Not a Game for Little Ones
My poor boys... They want to play this game and so does Amy. The only problem is, Amy is way too young to understand the object of the game. In her opinion, the marbles are hers. She has no problem putting them into everyone's slot before the game begins. But once the balls are released and those hippos start chomping, Amy starts screaming. She frantically makes a grab - with her hands - for every marble she sees, all the while screaming as though the world is coming to an end. After a few attempts at it, we finally gave up and I told the boys this will just have to be a game we play when someone is available to distract Amy. We put the game up at least 10 minutes ago... She's still screaming...

We also played this game over the weekend. And we also have superheroes integrated into our daily art work. Do we really live at the same house? :)
Philip had the same issues at first, but he soon got the idea. Our biggest problem is when the boys put their hands into the game to "help" their hippo eat the marbles.
We are introducing the concept of "not cheating"...
Nick loves the hippos, but doesn't like to shoot out his marbles. I think every young kid has to have some issue with the game. We let him play either by himself or with one of us, and play by his rules. Whatever they may be??
Another fun one with young ones. Hi Ho Cherrio. They don't like to move their apples off the tree or out of the bucket (depending on the feeling for that day), and their hands are so pudgy and clumsy that apples roll everywhere. FUN!
